This year’s Feast of St. Anthony Mary Claret was celebrated with special joy among Claretian communities around the world. In Montreal and Sherbrooke, Canada, the Claretians gathered to honor the founder of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in an early celebration filled with faith, fraternity, and a renewed commitment to mission.
Ahead of the official feast day, the communities reflected on the enduring legacy of St. Anthony Mary Claret. The celebrations included Mass, moments of prayer, and heartfelt sharing about how Claret’s missionary spirit continues to inspire ministries across Canada.
In Lynden, WA, trough the Instituto Bíblico Claretiano de las Américas, the Claretian community organized a weeklong series of daily classes on the life and mission of St. Anthony Mary Claret. The initiative was a tremendous success, with more than 180 participants connecting each day to learn about our founder. The sessions remain available to watch on their YouTube channel for those who wish to take part.
In his Feast Day Message, Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, CMF, Superior General of the Claretians, reminded us of our shared calling:
“This, brothers, is our call today: to be men who nourish hope, who generate life around us; to form communities that are home, table, and refuge; to exercise ministries that nurture, heal, and lift those entrusted to us.”
From Montreal to Sherbrooke, from Chicago to Rome, the Claretians continue to live out Claret’s mission, to make the Heart of Mary known and loved, and to transform the world through the Word, compassion, and action.
