restore

To return to an original state. But what does that look like? As we journey through life’s ups and downs, we are reminded that it is God who restores us: bringing us back to our truest selves, showing us who we are called to be.

It can be easy to fix what is broken, return what has been lost, and restore what has been turned off. But unlike a broken vase or an electrical outage, the aching wounds we carry in our hearts need a deeper, more internal restoration.

As we look over the joys and heartbreaks of our lives, we may feel tempted to give up hope. We tell ourselves that we are not worthy, that our wounds are too big for God, that we are beyond repair. But angel Gabriel reminds us: Nothing is impossible for God.

Remember, what keeps you awake at night is not greater than the God who sustains you. And when the dawn breaks, God’s endless love is still there.

Prayer for Today

Dear God,

Our world needs You more than ever. We need your guidance, and your protection. Our hearts need to be restored with your love and presence. Help me seek you every day, every time, in my good days and when everything around me seems to crumble. Hold me when I feel I can’t keep going seeing all the injustices in the world. Restore my soul, my home, my family and my neighbors. I know nothing is impossible for You. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

What needs to be restored in your life?

“The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack. In green pastures he makes me lie down; to still waters he leads me; he restores my soul.”

-Psalms 23: 1-3
