What does living in wonder mean?
A feeling of awe, surprise or admiration caused by the ability to see the extraordinary in the ordinary. Like Moses and the burning bush, wonder finds us when we encounter God through creation, prayer, and the mysteries of faith.
Awe is not something reserved for exceptional moments or extraordinary events. It is the ability to recognize God in the ordinary: in our breath, in silence, in another person’s face, in a flower blooming.
Religion, the Scriptures and Christian tradition invite us to recover this vision: to see creation not as something that simply exists, but as a living sign that gets us closer to our creator through stories of miracles. The saints used to live with this gaze, attentive to God’s divine presence in all things. To live with wonder is to remain open.
We are called to resist the numbness of routine and rediscover that every moment has meaning, because God is already there, silently inviting us to perceive Him in all things and to see the world through the innocent wonder of a child.

Oh mon Dieu
Mai I never lose this sense of wonder in my soul when my eyes behold the wonders of Your creation. Mai I recognize it in the fluttering of birds, in the whisper of the wind even in the storm, and in the creativity of a sculptor who pours his talents into his work. Open my senses to Your works in the universe, and the eyes of my soul to appreciate Your wonders. Amen.
