Have You Ever Met a Claretian Missionary?

Maybe it was a priest who comforted your family during a difficult moment.
Maybe it was a brother who welcomed you into a parish when you first arrived in this country.
Or maybe it was a missionary whose homily opened your heart in a way you never forgot.

Behind every Claretian Missionary is a lifetime of stories, more than a century in the US spent walking with immigrants, advocating for the poor, visiting the sick, teaching our children, blessing our homes, and standing with communities in moments of joy and heartbreak.

A Call to Care for Those Who Cared for Us

Today, many of these same priests and brothers now reside at Dominguez Seminary in their retirement years. The Claretian Alumni Association was formed to ensure that the men who spent a lifetime serving others can now live with the dignity, comfort, and compassion they have so generously extended to the world.

They are the missionaries who traveled long distances to bring hope.
The ones who opened parish doors when families had nowhere else to go.
The ones who prayed with us, baptized our children, buried our loved ones, and stood beside us through every season of life.

How You Can Help

Your donation sustains the Claretian mission.
It is a way of saying thank you to the priests and brothers who have loved our communities so faithfully. And it ensures that they receive the care, safety, and peace they deserve.

A gift of any size becomes part of the legacy they built—a legacy rooted in service, compassion, and the love of God.

Final Weeks of the Campaign

Five years ago, the alumni launched a capital campaign to improve Dominguez Seminary. Thanks to generous supporters, the campaign has surpassed its original $500,000 goal and funded major improvements, including:

  • A new heating and air-conditioning system
  • Updated security and lighting
  • Key-card entry and electronic door openers
  • Repairs to the chapel’s sewer line

These upgrades have made a significant difference, but important work remains. The plumbing and electrical systems need modernization, and the 30-year-old elevator must be replaced.

The campaign ends Diciembre 31, and we are within $50,000 of closing with $500,000 available for continued renovations. An alumnus has offered a matching grant to help us finish strong.

If you haven’t donated yet, please consider doing so. If you have, an additional end-of-year gift would make a meaningful impact.
