It is an honor to be leading alumni efforts to celebrate the founding of Dominguez Seminary 100 years ago. In 1924, the Dominguez Family gave, in trust, the family’s historic adobe home and 17 acres of land to the Claretians, a Catholic order of priests and brothers. The Spanish land grant ranch once covered the South Bay, Palos Verdes, and the Harbor area, some 75,000 acres in California. Generations of young men studied here to become missionaries. The seminary today serves another purpose as a home for retired missionaries.
We are looking for those alumni who studied here in the ‘50s and ‘60s as young men, but chose another path in life. A special Centenary Reunion is being planned for the alumni and their families on August 24.
