time

A period when something occurs. Time can be defined as a part of the sequence of events and can be measured in the seasonal changes. Time is a notion of life, the beginning and end of a period, or cycle. But time is also eternal, like God, within our grasp and outside of our control.

If we consciously reflect on the fragility of human life, perhaps we would live with greater intention and make the most of every second of our lives. When we trust in God’s timing, our hearts rest and allow God to do His work in our lives. 

Through God’s perfect creation we can see the wisdom of cycles and the gift of time. We come to understand that God’s plan is better than ours. In fact, God’s plan is worth waiting for because God’s timing is perfect. 

God’s timing is a journey filled with grace that allows us to draw closer to Him, to grow in His love, and, like little children, to trust that He holds us in His hand(s). When we have grown weary of waiting, He carries us and takes us in His arms. 

In God’s time, we are exactly where we need to be.

Dear God,

Time after time you have shown me to trust in Your perfect grace. I may not understand why I have to wait and keep praying for something You already have a plan for. But then, in Your perfect time, You do what is best for me. You keep me safe, in places where I am loved and where I can grow. Through the years You have taught me to be patient, to be aware and to trust in Your wisdom. Help me to continue to trust in Your perfect plan. Amen.
