Claretian Mission Day 2025: Honoring Women as Agents of Evangelization & Empowerment

Every year, our beloved Claretian family invites us to celebrate Claretian Mission Day on the second Sunday after Easter—a moment to pause, reflect, and take action in support of our global mission efforts. This year, Mission Day will be observed on April 27th, and it holds a particularly beautiful and timely theme: “Women: Agents of Evangelization & Empowerment.”

Claretian Mission Day 2025

As we continue our Easter celebrations and prepare our hearts for Mother’s Day, we are reminded of the powerful role women have played throughout salvation history—from the women at the tomb on Easter morning to the countless mothers, sisters, and daughters around the world who continue to spread love, faith, and hope in their communities.

This year, the Claretian General Mission invites us to focus our prayers and support on three vital projects that uplift and empower women in different parts of the world:

Santa María de Jesús, Guatemala

1. Strengthening Maya Kakchiqueles Women — Santa María de Jesús, Guatemala

In the town of Santa María de Jesús, women are preserving their ancestral identity through textile art. This project supports them by providing materials, classes, and events to celebrate their rich heritage and boost their socio-economic independence. It’s a beautiful way to honor indigenous culture while helping women build a sustainable future.

2. Education for Rural Women — Nazat, West Bengal, India

2. Education for Rural Women — Nazat, West Bengal, India

Access to education can transform lives. In Nazat, 200 women are being empowered through adult literacy programs and education on their rights under the Government of India. This project is about more than reading and writing—it’s about unlocking the door to dignity and equality.

Better Living Conditions for Women — Kingandu, Democratic Republic of the Congo

3. Better Living Conditions for Women — Kingandu, Democratic Republic of the Congo

In Kingandu, women face physically demanding labor with minimal resources. This initiative aims to improve their work techniques, reduce physical strain, and enhance their quality of life. It’s a simple yet powerful reminder that dignity begins with the basics.

Your gift today can be a life-changing offering for women around the world.
